Suspects nabbed in murder at Burlington County apartments
MOUNT HOLLY » Two people were arrested over the weekend for their roles with the gunning down of a Vineland man who was savagely beat with a shovel before being killed, authorities said.
Shane Davis, 20, and Jada Cooley, 19, were arrested over the weekend following the murder of 26-year-old David DiBraccio, who was killed following a fight with the suspects at his girlfriend’s apartment on the 100 block of Elm Street in Edgewater Park, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release.
Davis and Coley were arrested together at the Edgewater Manor Apartments, authorities said, not long after Friday’s fatal shooting, which happened around 3:45 p.m., police said. Coley is accused of beating Dibraccio with a shovel before Davis opened fire on him.
The details that led to the deadly confrontation are still under investigation. Dibraccio was pronounced dead after 5 p.m. at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. An autopsy was performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood, authorities said.
Davis, who turned 20 years old late last week, was charged with murder and weapons offenses, while Coley faces counts of aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
The two suspects lived together at the apartment complex where the murder happened, authorities said.
