Samuel C. Horton, Jr., age 84 of Ewing Twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home January 16th, 2018. Born in Princeton, Samuel was a lifelong area resident. A Korean Veteran serving in the US Airforce, he retired after 33 years from Circle “F” as a Tool Dye Setter. Soon after Sam retired he began to restore and sell beautiful antique trunks. He did this for 20 years and was known for his quality workmanshi­p. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Predecease­d by his parents, Samuel C., Sr. and Beatrice Goehring Horton, siblings, Daniel Horton and Mary Bucci, granddaugh­ter Michele Bouthiette. Samuel is survived by his wife of 43 years Iris J. Ent Horton, 8 children: Samuel C. Horton, III (Diane) of Bradenton, FL, Jean Ellen DeBronzo of Bristol, RI, Linda Morgan and Diana Jordan of Panama City, FL, John Edwin DeBronzo (Cynthia) of Attleboro, MA, Tammy Jean Gennette (John) of Somerset, PA, Sherry Lynn Horton of Jupiter, FL, Wendy Rae Runyon (Michael) of Columbus, NJ, 13 Grandchild­ren and 8 Great Grandchild­ren.

The family will receive relatives and friends Monday with visitation from 4 to 5:30 pm and the service from 5:30 to 6 at the Trinity United Methodist Church 1985 Pennington Rd. Ewing Twp., NJ 08618. Burial will be private in the B G Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneystown, NJ.

Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of the Hartmann Memorial Home 2830 Nottingham Way Mercervill­e, NJ 08619. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church 1985 Pennington Rd. Ewing, NJ 08618, or to Compassion­ate Care Hospice 261 Connecticu­t Ave. Burlington, NJ 08016.
