Robbinsville stays unbeaten in CVC

Getting ready for next week’s showdown with Hopewell Valley, the Robbinsville wrestling team remained undefeated in the Colonial Valley Conference Thursday night with a 46-34 victory over Steinert.

Steinert was able to sweep the upperweights with two pins, a major and a forfeit, but Robbinsville’s dynamite middleweights came through with behind a pin by Jack Milazzo at 152 pounds.

Robbinsville is now 13-2 and Steinert is 9-9.

In other action, North Hunterdon crushed Bridgewater, 55-9. Ranked second in the area by The Trentonian, the Lions as usual were led by middleweights Andrew Gapas, Michael Wilson and Tucker Kirchberger. North Hunterdon is now 9-2.

In matchups involving state top-10 teams, Phillipsburg topped Hanover Park, 33-26, and Howell blasted South Plainfield, 41-14.
