Seriously injured
UNION » Authorities say an SUV went into a New Jersey home following a crash, seriously injuring six people in the SUV.
The accident in Union occurred around 7:15 a.m. Friday.
Authorities say the SUV and a car attempting to make a left turn collided. The SUV then struck two other vehicles before it hit the front of the home.
The six injured people — including some children — were being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries that were described as serious but not life-threatening.
Two people inside the home were not hurt, but they have been forced from the home because it sustained serious damage and is temporarily uninhabitable.
No charges have been filed so far, but authorities say the accident remains under investigation.
Prosecutors: Dealer’s fentanyl-laced crack cocaine killed 3
RAHWAY » Authorities say a man who distributed fentanyl-laced crack cocaine that killed three people and sent numerous others to the hospital on a single day late last year is now facing several charges.
Union County prosecutors say 38-year-old George Rayford, of Rahway, faces three counts of strict liability for a drug-induced death and nine drug distribution charges. He could face several years in prison if convicted on all counts.
Authorities say Rayford distributed the deadly quantities of drugs from his home on Dec. 22, 2017. They say two women and a man died that day after overdosing, while an unknown number of others were treated at hospitals following overdoses.
It wasn’t known Tuesday if Rayford has retained an attorney.
