MAAC Standings: Rider (18-7, 11-2), Canisius (169, 10-2), Niagara (16-10, 9-4), Iona (15-10, 9-4), Manhattan (11-14, 6-7), Quinnipiac (9-16, 6-7), Fairfield (10-13, 5-7), Monmouth (8-16, 4-8), Saint Peter’s (10-14, 4-9), Siena (7-19, 3-10), Marist (5-20, 3-10)

Still Streaking: Rider’s seven-game winning steak is its longest since the 2007-08 season when it went on a 10game run. Next up are a pair of games against the league’s bottom two teams (Marist and Siena) before what could be the game of the year in the MAAC when Canisius visits Alumni Gymnasium. Don’t let the first against last trick you into thinking this trip to Poughkeepsie will be easy. The Broncs were fortunate to beat the Red Foxes in the first meeting, and despite Marist’s 3-10 record, it has played tough in the conference, including three overtime contests. The Broncs have won four of the last five meetings, and two of those were decided by a single basket. Scouting Marist: Mike Maker’s club had the lead in the final minute before dropping a tight one at SPU. The Red Foxes are led by Brian Parker, whose 17.9 points per game ranks fifth in the MAAC. Ryan Funk (39.3 percent) and Dave Knudsen (36.5 percent) are both capable outside shooters. Had it not shot 8-for-39 from deep in the first meeting, Marist would have stolen the game from a sluggish Rider.
