Grimes now Ewing’s top girls scorer
EWING » Mya Grimes became the Ewing High girls basketball team’s all-time leading scorer by turning in 24 points to lead the topseeded Blue Devils to an 86-25 win over 16th-seeded Jackson Liberty Monday in NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III play.
Grimes surpassed 2002 grad Amber Oliver’s 1,477 points during the game.
The six-foot senior for- ward headed to High Point (N.C.) University had plenty of help as junior guard Jaycee Lowe added 23 points with a trio of 3-point field goals and senior point guard Kiyla Peterson chipped in 10 points.
Ewing (22-5) will host eight-seeded Wall (10-16) Wednesday after the Crimson Knights defeated ninthseeded Moorestown, 53-36.
