Rose Rodgers Grant, 87, of Doylestown, PA died peacefully at home on Friday,

April 13, 2018 with her loving children by her side.

The daughter of the late James and Verna Johnson Rodgers, Rose was born and raised in Bordentown, NJ and graduated from William McFarland High School. Being very independen­t and adventurou­s, she proudly joined the USMC in 1951 and served 3 years, working as a clerk typist and for the Navy Relief Fund in San Diego, CA. She was a devoted wife and mother. Together, she and Willard, her husband of 52 years, enjoyed retirement with winters in Ft. Pierce, FL and summers in Rangeley, ME. In her spare time, Rose took great pleasure in cooking, gardening, reading, listening to country music and taking Pilates classes, but above all she loved spending time with her family. She retired from McGrawHill in 1995, but previously worked for IBM and National Computer Analysts. She was also a longtime resident of Lawrencevi­lle, NJ and spent the last 10 years in Doylestown, PA. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of New Jersey, Morning Star Chapter #22.

Rose is predecease­d by her husband, Willard F. Grant Jr., her parents, and nine brothers and sisters. She will be missed greatly by her loving children, Deborah Grant and Willard F. Grant, III both of Doylestown, PA; Her sister, Kathleen Lewis of Rio Rancho, NM; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held later this Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 381 0 (stjude.org).
