Hun scores five in sixth to beat L’ville

PRINCETON » After the Lawrencevi­lle School baseball team rallied to tie the Hun School in the top of the sixth inning, the Raiders responded by scoring five times in the bottom of the sixth to claim an 8-3 win at Wilf Family Field Thursday.

McGwire Tuffy went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, a run batted in and three runs scored, and Dan Melnick drove in three runs to spark Hun’s surge.

Chris Conyers doubled and knocked in two runs for the Big Red.

Rain that just wouldn’t go away kept many local teams from playing baseball Thursday.

Trenton’s game at West Windsor-Plainsboro South was postponed and moved to 10 a.m. Saturday, and WW-P North’s game at Notre Dame was switched to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 24. New Egypt’s game at Florence was reschedule­d for 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 8.

Allentown’s game at Princeton was postponed with no new date yet.

Robbinsvil­le’s game at South Brusnwick and Princeton Day School’s game at Conwell-Egan Catholic were cancelled.
