Virginia “Ginger” Louise (nee: Redman) Gunnell, age 77 of passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12,

2018 at Robert

Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ.

She was born in Trenton, NJ and resided in the Trenton and Ewing areas.

She was educated at Junior High # 5, graduated from Trenton Central High School, attended Trenton Junior College, Trenton Institute of Technology, and Woodbridge School for Nursing.

She retired fromIBM and the State of New Jersey.

Virginia was a former member of Mt. Zion AME Church, Trenton, NJ where she attended church, Sunday School, and taught Summer Vacation Bible School. In 1955 she joined Friendship Baptist Church and sang with the Heavenly Notes.

She was a member of Zipporah Chapter #11 Order of the Eastern Star P.H.A., Khufu Court #118 Daughter of Isis, Inland Civic Associatio­n, and bowled with the Six Seasons Bowling League.

Virginia was the daughter of the late James “Pep” and Louise Redman.

She is survived by a daughter, Marleen Watts, three grandchild­ren, Amber, Courtney, and Larry, a sister Wilbertine “Tina” Collins, a niece, Shawna Q. Collins, a nephew and Godson, Quinton W. Collins II, a Goddaughte­r, Marchell Y. Washington­Hutton, a Godson, Javon Lester, her devoted cousins, James and Loretta Mitchell, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday May 26th at 12pm at First Baptist Church, 5 Academy St., Pennington, NJ. Calling hour will be 11am until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Arrangemen­ts are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
