Sea Dogs steal one from Thunder

PORTLAND, MAINE » Austin Rei hit a two-run single in the eighth inning, leading the Portland Sea Dogs to a 5-4 win over the Thunder on Sunday.

Josh Taylor got Jeff Hendrix to hit into a double play with runners on first and second to end the game for his third save of the season.

The single by Rei capped a three-run inning and gave the Sea Dogs a 5-4 lead after Chad De La Guerra hit a solo home run earlier in the inning.

The Sea Dogs cut the deficit to 4-2 when Luke Tendler hit a solo home run in the seventh.

Trey Ball (2-2) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief while Jordan Foley (2-2) took the loss in the Eastern League game.

Francisco Diaz doubled and singled for the Thun- der. Wendell Rijo singled three times.
