THC at Wawa: Salina Ahmad, 33, was arrested after police found her driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the Wawa parking lot on Hickory Corner Road. Officials say she failed field sobriety tests, and that a cop found THC oil in her vehicle.
Pot Bust: Mohamed Elshrif, 21, of Old Bridge, was arrested after police found him in possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on Route 571.
Walmart Theft: Brian Simmons, 39, of Freehold, was arrested after stealing items from Walmart on Route 130.
Ewing
Loud Party: Cops shut down a loud college party hosted by TCNJ students on Bayberry Road and issued summonses to the residents for noise violations.
Metal Theft: Someone stole copper piping from a home in the 100 block of King Avenue.
Shoplifting: Paul Harrington, 29, of Trenton was arrested for outstanding warrants during a shoplifting investigation at Dollar General on North Olden Avenue.
Theft by Deception: A resident of Sixth Street told
police they were scammed out of $2,600 by someone claiming to be from Google Help Desk. Battery Theft: Two batteries were stolen out of a work truck parked in the parking lot of Aarons on North Olden Avenue. Car Burglary: Someone smashed the window of a parked vehicle on Silvia Street and stole a purse from inside.
Pennsylvania
Child Sex Abuse: Omar Harrison, 43, a former Dean at Mastery Charter Harrity Middle School in Philadelphia, was convicted of sexual abuse charges. Following a jury trial, Harrison was found guilty of statutory sexual assault, two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a child less than 16years of age, institutional sexual assault, indecent assault of a person less than 16years of age, and corruption of a minor. He faces lifetime Megan’s Law registration. According to prosecutors in the case, on June 12, 2017, Harrison drove a 14-year-old girl to the Econo Lodge in Essington Township where the sexual assault occurred. During the ride to the motel, officials say, Harrison told the victim “don’t be nervous, don’t be scared, if you want to do this, you can’t tell everybody, you’re going to get me trouble.” After the sexual assault occurred, he drove her home and dropped her off on the corner.
Assault: Aaron Turner, 28, was arrested after he allegedly choked and punched a woman in the mouth after seeing a text message on her phone. Police say the assault took place in a parked car. Bail was set at $10,000.
ATV Theft: Police are searching for Pedro SantiagoEspinosa, 30, regarding his involvement in stealing all-terrain vehicles from a residence in Springfield Township.
