Bertha Mae Manning, 90, departed this life on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell, NJ.

Born in Trenton, NJ, to the late Alexander and Sarah Smith Hannon, she was a lifelong resident of Trenton and graduate of Trenton Central High School.

Bertha retired from Trenton Psychiatri­c Hospital after more than 25 years of service as a nursing assistant.

She was a faithful, lifelong member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she served on many auxiliarie­s, including the Memorial Ministry.

Bertha was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, grandmothe­r, friend and neighbor.

Predecease­d by her husband, Lacey Manning; parents; 3 sons, James Walter, Ronald Lee and Thomas Wesley Manning; and most recently, her grandson, Jabbar “Buckshot” Manning; daughterin-law, Robin Manning; 4 brothers, Alec, Henry “Gus”, Leo and Jerome Hannon; 3 sisters, Cora Selman, Magdalene Smith and Mabel McKnight.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving daughter, Jessie Robinson and devoted son-in-law, Curtis Robinson; 7 grandchild­ren, Tonya Butler, Ebony Kelly, Lucretia Clark, Corey Talley, Raheem Clark, Hattie Wilson, Ronnesha Manning; 16 great-grandchild­ren; 5 sisters-in-law, Christine Mason, Penelope Hannon, Annie R. Emanuel, Margarette Ross and Gladys Hendrix and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including a special caregiver, Marion McKinney.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11 am at Friendship Baptist Church, 111 Perry Street, Trenton, NJ. The viewing begins at 9am.
