At­tempted Mur­der: Ju­lian Stovell, 26 was ar­rested by the Shoot­ing Re­sponse Team and U.S. Mar­shals on Chest­nut Av­enue, charged with at­tempted mur­der and ag­gra­vated as­sault. Sto­vall was locked up for some­thing that hap­pened in Oc­to­ber. Po­lice couldn’t im­me­di­ately of­fer any other de­tails on the ar­rest.

Rob­bery: Tyreeq Green was locked up ear­lier this week and hit with charges for rob­bery, ag­gra­vated as­sault and pos­ses­sion of weapon for an un­law­ful pur­poses. He was also ar­rested by the U.S. Mar­shals. He had a hand­ful of war­rants out for his ar­rest at the time he was nabbed by the au­thor­i­ties. Po­lice didn’t have fur­ther de­tails about the ar­rest.

Drug Pop: An­gel Ro­driguez, 26, was ar­rested on Cen­tre Street after cops found him with heroin. Vi­o­lent crime de­tec­tives pa­trolling South Tren­ton saw Ro­driguez do a drug deal with some­one else. De­tec­tives saw him ex­change money and stopped Ro­driguez. He was found with drugs and cash and taken to po­lice head­quar­ters. He had three decks of heroin and more than $300 in cash that was seized as sus­pected il­licit drug pro­ceeds. 31 and Or­tiz Nieves, 20, were nabbed by vi­o­lent crime de­tec­tives who saw them do a drug deal. They sep­a­rated and walked away when they saw the boys in blue com­ing for them. Wil­liams was hit with distri­bu­tion charges while Nieves was hit with pot charges. Cops seized 5 gram of mar­i­juana and $2,421 in cash. Oxy Bust: Ken­neth Askew, 28, Anthony Joynes, 31, were taken into cus­tody by street crime de­tec­tives after they saw one of the men drop some­thing on the ground. Cops re­cov­ered what turned out to be Oxy­codone pills. Both men were ar­rested and hit with drug charges and distri­bu­tion charges since they were within 500 feet of a park. Askew was also charged with hin­der­ing ap­pre­hen­sion.

New Brunswick

Mur­der: A man was ar­rested and charged in the fa­tal stab­bing of a city wo­man who was killed in Perth Am­boy. Benny M. Pichardo San­tos Arias, 25, of Perth Am­boy, faces mur­der and weapons charges along with hin­der­ing his own ap­pre­hen­sion in the fa­tal stab­bing of a 20-year-old wo­man who was six months preg­nant. On Thurs­day, po­lice re­sponded to the in­ter­sec­tion of Sayre and Stead­man Av­enue and found Es­mer­alda Ce­deno suf­fer­ing from mul­ti­ple stab wounds. She was taken to Rar­i­tan Bay Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Perth Am­boy where she was pro­nounced dead from her in­juries; the baby also died. Au­top­sies on both are pend­ing. De­tec­tive Frank Cris­tiano of the Perth Am­boy Po­lice De­part­ment and De­tec­tive Erik Larsen of the Mid­dle­sex County Pros­e­cu­tor’s Of­fice are lead­ing the mur­der probe. Arias is be­ing held at the Mid­dle­sex County Cor­rec­tion Cen­ter in North Brunswick pend­ing a de­ten­tion hear­ing.
