Giants RB Saquon Barkley vs. 49ers LB Fred Warner — Defenses have held Barkley to fewer than 50 rushing yards in five of eight games. In order for the Giants rookie to break some long runs, he’ll likely have to maneuver around Warner at the second level. The middle linebacker ranks fifth in the league with 73 total tackles.

Giants RG Jamon Brown vs. 49ers DT Earl Mitchell — After claiming Brown off waivers last week, the Giants hope to have the former Ram up to speed in time to start Monday’s game. His first test will largely consist of Mitchell, who ranks 78th among 109 qualifying interior defenders on Pro Football Focus.

Giants secondary vs. 49ers QB Nick Mullens — San Francisco’s rookie out of Southern Miss shined in his debut last week against the Raiders, completing 16-of-22 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns. He also had no turnovers. Through eight games, the Giants rank 27th in Football Outsiders’ DVOA pass defense efficiency rankings. Giants LB Alec Ogletree vs. 49ers TE George Kittle — Kittle leads San Francisco in receptions (41), targets (61) and receiving yards (692). Ogletree will likely have to match up inside with Kittle at times. The veteran middle linebacker has struggled in pass coverage this season, ranking 76th in that department among linebackers, according to PFF. Injury Report:
