Tough end of season schedule will end Eagles 2018 campaign

- L.A. Parker Columnist

Cry Eagles, cry. On the way to the golf course.

Die Eagles, die. You are no N-F-C force.

I’m afraid, it’s the Boys, so don’t make so much noise.

Cry Eagles, cry. On the way to the first tee. F-E-E-B-L-E. Feeble. Sorry Eagles fans. This does not appear to be your year although memories of the 2017-2018 should hold you over for the dog days of winter. (And, remorsefully, made the same prediction last year). Grain of salt.

It’s going to be close. No better time to inject the “one-game-at-a time” or “on any given Sunday” insight because PhillyPhilly must go into Big D and win Sunday in the house that Jerry built. Understandably, Eagles fans are Jonesing for a repeat appearance in the playoffs.

So, say Philadelphia beats Dallas which will place both teams at 7-6. Dallas will visit Indianapolis, host Tampa then face the Giants on the road while the Eagles must travel to play the Rams, host Houston then head to Washington.

Dallas, despite Dak Prescott’s consistent fumbles, will finish 10-6 with Philadelphia potentially in with a 9-7 mark. No way the Eagles beat both the Rams on the coast and Texans at home. Could drop both.

What about the wild card? That’s the Eagles best chance. Seattle (7-5) seems headed for a 10-6 mark with three of the final four games at home. Seahawks are favored this week against my Minnesota team which will tailspin to 6-6-1.

That’s a pretty tough schedule. We were in Foxboro against New England last week now must hop a flight to Seattle. Jet lag alone will work against the Purple People Eaters.

This is where the schedule turns interesting as Minnesota hosts Miami, visits Detroit then hosts Chicago. If Vikes win out then they finish 9-6-1 to edge Philly. And Bears (8-4) could potentially lose three of last four beginning Sunday with Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay, at San Francisco and away at Minnesota.

Personally, a main reason for pulling hard against Philadelphia involves Eagles’ fanatic Pastor Mark Granville of New Life Christian Church and Howard Holden, a mutual friend.
