Revenge Attack: Crystal Bethea, 34, was arrested after she hit her ex-boyfriend with a car shortly after he was released from jail following being arrested for assaulting her. Police say Bethea has a restraining order against the man and was notified that he was being released from county jail. She then staked out the bus stop on South Broad Street where jail officials dropped him off, according to police who say the man saw Bethea following him and went straight home to avoid further conflict. Police say Bethea followed the man and started an
argument, during which she drove her car over the curb in front of his house, forcing him to jump out of the way. The man was hit in the leg by the car, resulting in injuries that required hospital treatment. Bethea is charged with assault by
auto.
Quid Pro Quo: Kristen Yenchick, 29, and Steven Acevedo, 26, were arrested after police found them engaged in prostitution while in possession of drugs over the weekend. Officials say cops found them in a vehicle, and that Yenchick had 11 decks of heroin, five hypodermic needles and a crack pipe in her possession. Further investigation revealed Acevedo had picked her up for sex, according to police. Police also seized $25 during the investigation. Yenchick is charged with prostitution and drug offenses. Acevedo is charged with loitering to engage in prostitution.
Heroin Bust: Phillip Wilson, 32, was arrested after he allegedly tried to hide 276 decks of heroin in the sunroof of a car during a traffic stop. Officials say detectives from the Street Crimes Unit conducted a motor vehicle stop after witnessing Wilson commit a violation on Chambers Street. Police say Wilson tried to hide the drugs in the car’s sunroof as cops approached the vehicle. Police also found additional heroin under the vehicle’s console. Wilson is charged with drug possession and distribution. Cops also towed the car.
Coke Bust: Felipe VillarrealGonzalez, 36, and Lexter Barreto-Montalvo, 31, were arrested after police interrupted an alleged drug deal. Officials say Villarreal-Gonzalez tossed a bag containing 60 grams of cocaine onto the ground and fled when he saw cops, but later returned to search for the goods. By that time, police had already recovered the drugs, so they arrested him for drug possession, distribution and hindering apprehension. Barreto-Montalvo had two decks of heroin in his possession when cops searched him.
