Last Time Out: Princeton def. George Washington, 73-52; St. Joe’s lost to Temple, 77-70 Series History: St. Joe’s leads, 9-8 Background: The Tigers and Hawks are meeting for the fourth consecutive season with St. Joe’s winning each of the last three years. Princeton does enter on a three-game winning streak even if those three victories have come against opposition with a combined 1-24 record.

Way to go, Jose: Junior guard Jose Morales is making the most of his extended playing time. He’s already logged more minutes in four games this season than he did all of last year. Morales, a native of Miramar, Fla., who prepped for a year at the Hun School, has a toughness about him that coach Mitch Henderson likes. His ability to handle the ball allows Princeton to play Devin Cannady and Myles Stephens in their natural positions. At some point, the Tigers are going to get heralded freshman Jaelin Llewellyn on the floor (Henderson said he hopes before the end of the month), but Morales should still see plenty of time as one of the team’s two primary ball handlers. Phil Martelli’s Hawks were picked to finish second in the Atlantic-10, but come into Wednesday night’s contest having dropped four of their last five games. The two teams have faced a common opponent as both defeated lowly Monmouth. St. Joe’s boasts a pair of talented scorers in Charlie Brown (23.4 ppg) and Lamarr Kimble (17.5 ppg). Neither of those two players appeared in the Hawks’ 71-58 win over the Tigers last season due to injury. Brown is off to a sizzling start, connecting on 54.1 percent of his shots and 52.2 percent from long range.

?? JOHN BLAINE — FOR THE TRENTONIAN ?? a point of contention last season as he seemed to mix and match a different group of players each game. Perhaps he’s found something that works with a seven-man unit (which can become eight when Llewellyn returns). Both Morales and junior center Richmond Arirguzoh appear to have carved out key roles, while sophomores Sebastian Much and Jerome Desrosiers are also in his plans. Freshman Drew Friberg and Ethan White both disappeared from the rotation against George Washington. Cannady and Stephens are the givens. “I would like to play a lot of guys, but we’re playing to win,” Henderson said. “We want to make sure we’re putting the guys on the floor who can win and hopefully win the league. That’s the objective.”Scouting St. Joe’s: Princeton’s Richmond Aririguzoh (34) moves past George Washington’s Marcus Littles (35) to score a basket during last Saturday’s game.
