Frederick D. Wingate Sr. of Ewing

Frederick D. Wingate Sr.,

89, of Ewing, entered into God’s eternal rest on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Capital Health Hopewell. Born in Pensicola, Florida he had been a Ewing Township resident for the past years. He had a military career for 30 years with the U.S. Army as a Command Sergeant Major. Frederick went to Vietnam twice and had been stationed in Korea for a period of time. He also was employed as a supervisor for 14 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Frederick enjoyed gardening and maintaining his property. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Son of the late Aaron and Florence White Wingate; husband of the late Hildegard L. Rusp Wingate; grandfather of the late Karen Wilson; brother of the late Bertrand and Oliver Wingate; Frederick is survived by his children, Patricia Ann Wingate, Frederick D. Wingate Jr. and wife Verlene, and Lydia and husband Paul Peterson; grandchildren, Shelby Wingate, Audrey Misner, Heidi and husband Steve Solokis, and Troy Wilson; great-grandchildren, Max and Chance Misner, Dustin and Tanner Barker, Trevor Wilson, and Mackenzie Coon; great great-grandchildren, Jaylee, Maddison, Miyah, and Annabelle Misner, Oliver and Felix Frederick Coon, Neveah Barker, Ocean and Rain Barker, and Sloan Wilson; as well as other family and friends.

Christian funeral services will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638. Family and friends may call Monday morning from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM prior to services at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Ewing Cemetery, 78 Scotch Rd., Ewing, NJ 08628.
