Ulyes Ricks Sr., 81

Ulyes Ricks Sr., 81 passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 9, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospice in Hamilton, NJ.

He was born on October 11, 1937 in Swainsboro, GA to John Henry Sr and Leola Ricks. He was educated in the Emmanuel County school system. He began working in the labor industry at an early age in many different factories and warehouses. After relocating to Trenton, NJ with his family he began a labor position in the steel industry at United States Steel Corporation in Fairless Hills, PA where he retired after 25 years. Some of his favorite interests included his love of music, fishing and spending time with family.

He is pre-deceased by his parents John Henry Sr and Leola Ricks, sisters Udell Ricks, Ethel Mae Ricks and Mae Lois Ricks. Brothers Henry Lee Ricks, Thomas Ricks, Willie Ricks, L.C. Ricks and Bernic “Pete” Ricks. And a daughter Ann Geneva Ricks. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Annie Pearl Ricks of Cherry Hill, NJ. 6 children Louise Johnson of Atlanta GA, Ulyes Ricks of Florence NJ, Lestine Lane of Trenton NJ, Richard and Taisha Ricks of Burlington NJ, Patricia Jones of Fairless Hills PA and Sandra Ricks of Cherry Hill NJ. A brother John Henry Jr and Doris Ricks of Trenton NJ. 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, loving companion Rosa Lee Champion and the Champion family and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral will be held at St. James church on Fountain Ave. Trenton, NJ. Viewing will be 9am to 11am time of service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
