Sean Elefant of Hamilton High School West
Sean Elefant is a true student athlete who represents Hamilton High School West on the baseball field, basketball court and beyond. Not only was Sean a 4-year varsity letter winner in baseball, Sean also received the American Legion Baseball - Mercer County American Legion League 2017 Sportsmanship Award for demonstrating sportsmanship of the highest degree throughout the 2017 American Legion Baseball season and received the All-CVC Team Honorable Mention for an aboveaverage 2018 high school baseball season. Further, he was awarded the New Jersey American Legion State Champion. Sean was the starting Third Baseman for his American Legion baseball team, Broad Street Park Post 313, who won their New Jersey State Championship Title for the first time in 43 years!
Baseball Coach, Tim Kline says, “Sean is a student of the game of baseball. He loves the sport and is educated in the sport beyond just his position or the mechanics of each skill. This knowledge allows him to understand the bigger picture, as well as to help his teammates reach their full potential. In this team setting, Sean’s leadership skills are quite evident. During games, Sean can always be heard leading the cheers or encouraging his teammates to pick up their efforts. What has impressed me the most with Sean is that he will continue to pick up and encourage his teammates even when he is not performing up to his own standards. This is a rare quality and the sign of a true leader.”
Athletic Director, John Constantino states, “Sean is the epitome of what we look for in an athlete at Hamilton High West. Besides being an outstanding student, he exemplifies our core principles of Sportsmanship, Integrity and Respect. It has been a pleasure to watch Sean grow not only as an athlete but also as a person, as has helped to provide leadership to both the basketball and baseball programs.”
In his academic career, Sean ranks number four in his class and is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Peer Leadership Program, Math Club, Spanish Club, Hey Club, Marching Band and works as the Banker in our school bank. In addition to his athletic achievements, Sean has been the recipient of numerous academic and fine arts awards.
“Sean is an outstanding young man. His 4.687 overall GPA is evidence of his intelligence and disciplined work ethic. Above his academic and athletic accomplishments, Sean’s character and personal qualities truly make him an exceptional individual,” says Carla Guglielmelli, School Counselor.
Sean Elefant is a student of whom Hamilton West is proud to call one of its own, and we know that Sean will be successful in all of his future endeavors
