Alexander Park of Princeton High School
Alexander is an impressive young individual whose overall engagement has allowed him to flourish during his time at Princeton High School. He exhibits an infectious enthusiasm, a dedication to his interests and scholarly distinction. Alexander is a self-starter, who is not a stranger to hard work.
Athletics have always been a significant part of Alexander’s life; allowing him a physical outlet and a dedication to good health. Alexander has emerged as a fantastic lacrosse player but has also played football for PHS. He founded and implemented the PHS Strength and Conditioning Club, which now has a huge following of committed individuals.
Alexander’s commitment to stay connected with his school and greater community has strengthened every year. He has spent many hours volunteering for the Princeton Education Foundation. This particular organization has dedicated their time and resources to supporting the disadvantaged population in our area. Alexander is regularly offering his time for fundraisers and to plans events.
Intern: Ludwig Cancer Research Jul 2018 – Aug 2018
University of Oxford, United Kingdom
Intern at University of Oxford, Ludwig Cancer Research Institute. Our researchers are investigating the processes within cells that influence the formation and growth of cancers and better understand the contribution of heritable genetics to human cancer, predict cancer risk, progression and response to therapies, as well as uncover novel therapeutic interventions.
An immersive experience, working hands-on and participating in some of the daily work of the Gareth L. Bond Laboratory. Completed: Western blot (electrophoresis for proteins), RNA extraction, tissue cultures, MTT assay, and drug treatment of cell line experiments – using the requisite tools (NanoDrop 1000, Trans-Blot Turbo Transfer system), processes, and equipment – while following proper lab procedures. Student Intern PMV Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Jun 2017 – Aug 2017 PMV Pharma is developing first-in-class p53 regulators for the treatment of cancer. Bringing together leaders in the field to utilize over three decades of p53 biology, PMV Pharma combines unique biological understanding with pharmaceutical development focus.
• Completed “Biosafety in the Laboratory” Training Certificate. This training focuses on biosafety, including the prevention of infections from bloodborne pathogens for laboratory workers.
• Completed “Laboratory Safety Orientation” Training Certificate. This training is to make sure that you have the knowledge you need to work safely in the laboratory.

Oct 2016 – Jun 2017 After being selected through a highly competitive application process, I served as a member of the Princeton Education Foundation (PEF) Student Advisory Committee. I reviewed more than 20 PEF Teacher Grant proposals and provided feedback to Education the PEF Board of Trustees for each. 13 Teacher Grants, worth over $20,000, were approved and funded throughout the Princeton Public School district.
