Henry Hopkins of Robbinsville High School
Henry Hopkins is an active senior at Robbinsville High School who continues to greatly contribute to our school community, the Robbinsville community and beyond. Henry is part of our Winter and Spring Track Teams while maintaining a GPA that is in line with the highly competitive academics our school offers. Henry has participated in engineering classes offered through the Mercer County Technical School to enhance his education and prepare him to enter into engineering as a college freshman. Henry’s commitment to his academics resulted in his acceptance and participation in both the World Language Honor Society and National Honor Society. Henry also worked to develop the school community through his commitment to creating the Jewish Heritage club at our high school. He is a dedicated leader who is not only much respected by our faculty and his peers, but is also respected by the lives he has touched through his service to others.
The commitment and dedication to every community service effort that Henry has participated in has changed many lives, however his own initiative is not only impression, but a true reflection of Henry’s passion for helping others and bettering society. Since the age of 10, Henry has been interested in working with the Fire Department. To develop his knowledge of this field, Henry found a fire company that has a junior program, Allentown Fire Department and EMS, and was accepted into the program at just 16 years old. Through his role as a junior volunteer, Henry has been exposed to real life fire suppression scenarios and ongoing trainings. Resulting from his experiences with the Fire Department, Henry is the first ever student to be a member of our school Automated External Defibrillator team.
Henry has accumulated over 1000 community service hours, while our high school only requires students to contribute 30 hours in their high school career. He plans to study Fire Protection Engineering or Engineering in college in the fall of 2019 and continue his community service efforts.
