Samantha Tanapat-Hastings of West Windsor Plainsboro High School South

-

Talented and driven are just a few words I would use to describe Samantha. As early as freshmen year, she proved that she was a force to be reckon with both on and off the softball field. She possesses an unwavering commitment to being her best and doing her best at all times, in everything she does.

Her endless work ethic has earned her numerous honors over the course of her high school softball career. She earned a Varsity letter as a freshmen, making a name for herself on the state level. By her sophomore year, she was given Second Team Group 4 honors after earning an impressive batting average to include tying the Mercer County Home Run record. Samantha continued on her remarkable streak last year and earned First Team honors and won her team’s MVP award. As a senior, she is excited to take on the greater role of Captain where she hopes she can make a positive impact not only with her talent, but her overall enthusiasm for the sport and for her team. Remarkably, she is on pace to achieve 100 hits and runs scored in her high school career!

Samantha is a quintessential “scholar athlete” in that her innate drive not only brings her success in her sport but also in the classroom. She embraces West Windsor- Plainsboro’s rigorous curriculum as she satisfies her unending aca- demic curiosities. As a re- sult of her character, ser- vice, and academic excel- lence, she was selected to our prestigious National Honor Society.

Samantha leads by exam- to continue her growth as ple both in and out of the an academic and softball classroom. She certainly player at Swarthmore College has a bright future ahead next year! of her and she is excited
