Ewing street renamed in honor of local pastor

A section of Oregon Avenue in Ewing Township became Rev. Dr. Vincent H. Jackson Way.

Mrs. Elizabeth Scurry and other members of St. John’s Baptist Church with the help of Councilman Kevin Baxter and Mayor Bert Steinman helped pave the way for this “street naming”.

Rev. Jackson has served as pastor at St. John’s Baptist Church for the past forty years. He has made numerous contributi­ons to the Trenton and Ewing communitie­s through the years. His service includes membership on the Ewing Township School Board and role as president of Concerned Pastors and Ministers of Trenton Rev. Vincent Jackson, Ewing Mayor Bert Steinman, and Councilman Kevin Baxter join Mrs. Elizabeth Scurry and members of St. John’s Baptist Church and friends for the street renaming.

Last fall a capacity-filled

banquet was held at Mercer Oaks to celebrate Rev. Jackson’s leadership and devotion

to the church and local communitie­s.
