Police name suspect in Mother’s Day homicide
HAMILTON >> A 37-yearold Trenton man faces a murder rap in connection with the Mother’s Day stabbing death of Leydi Lemos-Delgado, authorities said Monday.
Helder Rosa, of Lamberton Street, is charged with counts of murder and weapons offenses after police responded in the early morning hours to a Steward Street apartment on an emergency call.
There, they found Lemos-Delgado stabbed inside a secured home; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Rosa was also taken to the hospital, apparently suffering from stab wounds.
Police haven’t said what was behind the stabbing. It was the first murder in the township since last year.
