Dorothy V. Hollendonn­er, 94, of Allentown, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Dottie worked as a Registered Nurse for Overlook Hospital in Summit and as a nurse for the Cadet Nurse Corps. A longtime resident of Titusville, She and her husband lived in Florida and Vermont before moving back to New Jersey to be closer to family.

A devoted wife and mother, Dottie was active with her children’s activities as the grew up. She was a very talented woman who enjoyed ceramics, sewing, cross-stitch and knitting. She also made beautiful porcelain dolls, from casting, painting and even making their clothes. She loved to entertain and was a wonderful cook and baker, a talent she learned from her father.

Daughter of the late George and Florence Johnston, she was predecease­d in 2014 by her beloved husband of 65 years, John E. Hollendonn­er. Dottie is survived by her loving children and their spouses John and Laurie of Akron, OH, Wayne and Joan of Ewing, Bruce and Grace of Hamilton and Mary Jane and Paul German of Jackson; her cherished grandchild­ren and spouses, Wesley and Alexis Hollendonn­er, Brenton and Erica German and Heather and Hector Rangel; her great grandchild­ren, whom she adored, Isabella and Jacoby Tussing, Sophia German, Victor Rangel and Isla Hollendonn­er and her treasured caregiver and friend, Ana Jangveladz­e.

A memorial service will be held 6pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the DeBows United Methodist Church, 509 Monmouth Rd., Jackson, NJ. A repast will follow the service in fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
