LEVIITTOWN, PA. >>If the redhot Pennsbury High School football team can continue to play like it did against Truman Saturday night, there’s no telling what it might accomplish before this season is finish.

No doubt irritated by the fact it lost to this team for the first time since 2001 last year and what it perceived as too much Internet social media chat by the Tigers, visiting Pennsbury paid back Truman big time by crushing the Tigers, 42-20, in front of a large crowd at the Henry C. Morgan Stadium.

Truth be told, the final score is misleading because Pennsbury actually led 42-0 at one point before completely taking its first off the gas.

With the impressive victory, Pennsbury (4-3) won its fourth straight game and took a big step towards a possible Suburban One League championship by also handing Truman its first league loss.

In about as dominating a showing as you could ever want to see against a quality opponent, Pennsbury showed no mercy in a first half in which it repeatedly went for the kill by kicking and recovering two onsides kick.

How dominant was Pennsbury in racing out to a 42-point lead before Truman scored with :02 remaining in the first half?

Consider Pennsbury scored on a touchdown on every first half possession but one. Defensively, it got two interceptions from Drew Hensor, another pick by Christian Bond and completely neutralized Truman’s star running back Dajuan Harris.

Harris came into the game with a whopping 15 touchdowns in Truman’s last three games, but against the swarming Falcon defense he went nowhere. He was also forced out of the game late in the second quarter when he was injured playing defense.

The carnage started on Pennsbury’s very first play when quarterback C.J. Kohler threw a quick swing pass to Isaiah Edwards after the Falcons had recovered a fumble. Edwards did the rest by juking a defensive back and racing into the end zone on a 33yard pass completion.

Following his first interception, Hensor scored the second touchdown on a 2-yard run to make the score 14-0 after the first quarter.

It was in the second quarter where Pennsbury really piled it on with 28 points, starting with a 12-yard burst by Brad Mickels. Throughout that first half Pennsbury’s huge offensive line blew Truman backwards on play after play, and Hensor, Mickels and McNeil took full advantage.
