When it comes to science vs. hogwash, I fall firmly on Team Science.

As such, I will be getting my flu shot this year. As will my kids. AS will, I hope, my wife. Favorite part about getting the flu shot? I go to Target to get mine, and then I treat myself to a pack of baseball cards for being such a brave boy.

Least favorite part? Watching two of my three kids scream in fear before they get their flu shots. One of my kids couldn’t care less. She’s a toughie, that one. The other two? Wusses.

Anyway, if science says a flu shot is going to help, then sure, I will get a flu shot. Why wouldn’t I?

Got one last year. So did my kids.

And guess what? We all got the flu. You know who didn’t get a shot? My wife. You know who also got the flu? My wife.

OK. So. By looking at the above, it would appear I’m a moron for saying I’m going back to Target to get another flu shot. Clearly, they don’t work.

Except: Me and my kids had the “flu” for two days, then a few days recovery, and we all felt like ourselves again after a week or so. My wife? She had the “flu” for like five days, and it took her weeks to get back to normal.

Who’s the moron now?

Anyway, yes, of course I’ll get a flu shot. Why would I want to get sick, or be sicker longer? A masochist, I am not.
