Love.

That’s the big advice from a man down the road in life. And, the person topping the list of love interests? You.

Whitney Houston may have been incapable of surrendering to her own advice but — learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all.

Of course, society, media and even nature deliver propaganda about pairing up with another human being but even that connection demands self-value and worth for a modicum of success.

Nobody completes you. Oh, they may complement your existence but the model being moved around this universe — never been and never will be anyone just like you. So, in this search and construction of worthy and healthy selflove, discover who you are and build the best version of you.

While this message transmits to high school seniors, a cultivation of self love should occur in all humans from first breath until last look.

Great societies flourish by nurturing children and the elderly with hopes that adults enjoying the prime time of life, those humans within the distinct age markers, indulge in the dispensing of love.

We know that children not only need love but exist as deserving creatures for love. As adults, it’s imperative that we love our children in spite of what our young lives may have offered.

A second suggestion supports building a religious or spiritual faith, plus, a life that involves meditation and prayer.

Focus on being a child of God and human being first and avoid constraints of political parties or other divisions.

Professionally, find a job that you love. On average, an adult works 40 years during a lifetime. Why punch a clock for mindless employment when you can find a job that excites and challenges.

Sounds cheesy but there’s truth in that adage that a person who loves a job never works a day in her life.

Construct a diverse circle of friends that love and support your life and return their affection.

Then live. Travel. Read. Develop interests that connect with nature. Make your life whatever you like but always save time for yourself, for silence and love.

An admiration exists here for high school and college Class of 2020 graduates. Your perseverance under stressful conditions ranks as a remarkable achievement.

Take all the experience from life lessons learned and write a brilliant next chapter.
