Pirates blank crosstown rival Knights

PLAINSBORO » Before last evening’s rain could interfere, Josh Raeter tossed a five-hit shutout to lead the West Windsor-Plainsboro High South varsity baseball team to a 3-0 win over crosstown rival WW-P North at West Windsor Community Park.

Raeter, a junior righthande­r, hit one batter, walked one batter and struck out four in his complete-game effort to outduel Northern Knights’ junior righty Caleb Kempler, who also scattered five hits.

Justin Guest doubled and drove in a run for the Pirates, who snapped a four-game losing streak and avenged an earlier loss to North this season.
