Catherine Mascio Candelori, affectiona­tely known by her family and friends as Chubby, 82, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Capital Health Medical Center- Hopewell, with her loving family by her side.

Born at home in Trenton she was a Hamilton resident since 2003. Cathy worked for The State of New Jersey for 25 years, retiring from The Office of Administra­tive Law in 2002.

Cathy entertaine­d her patrons as she waitressed for some 20 plus years in various restaurant­s throughout Mercer County.

During her retirement she worked part time as a Legal Secretary at the law offices of Donini and Ramsey for several years, and more recently enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great granddaugh­ter!

Cathy was a Eucharisti­c minister and member and past president of The Ladies of the Blessed Sacrament of Immaculate Conception Church. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and also a volunteer for TASK since 1985.

Cathy loved going to Atlantic City with her girlfriend­s and enjoyed playing the lottery. She also enjoyed going to the movies and the theatre, often tagging along with her son and his friends to Broadway shows.

Predecease­d by her parents, Frank Mascio and Mary (Kocsis) Mascio; her sister, Marietta Barbieri and brother-in-law, John Barbieri.

She is survived by her loving children, Mary Beth Candelori-Longo of Hamilton and Kenneth A. Candelori of Hamilton; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Mark Plytas of Hamilton; grandchild­ren, Michael and his wife Sara Longo and Lauren Longo and her fiance Raul Lopez, Jr.; a great granddaugh­ter, Sofia Rose Longo; her former spouse Alex Candelori ;and several nieces, nephews and cousins and “The Comare Squad”.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, June 16, at 9:45 a.m. From the Gruerio Funeral Home, 311 Chestnut Avenue, Trenton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Parish-Immaculate Conception Church, 540 Chestnut Avenue, Trenton. Interment will follow in Our lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey Street, Hamilton. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Catherine’s family on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00- 9:45 a.m. at the Gruerio Funeral Home.
