Everytown for Gun Safety endorses Terry-Wilson for council
>> Council candidate atlarge Taiwanda “Tai” Terry-Wilson today announced that she has secured the endorsement of Everytown for Gun Safety.
“We, the residents of the great city of Trenton, have been plagued with gun violence on a near daily basis,” said Taiwanda “Tai” Terry-Wilson. “The trafficking of guns across state lines into our city has directly contributed to the senseless murders that have occured, and the trauma families and our community have been left to navigate through.”
“Quite naturally, this makes gun safety an issue that I care deeply about and one that I will continue to speak out about,” said Terry-Wilson, a mother of three. “Securing the endorsement of Everytown is another tool in my arsenal that I will use to try to prevent senseless killings and violence from occurring in Trenton.”
“I am happy that Everytown sees how committed I am to stopping senseless gun violence in my home city, and other communities wherever I can,” said Terry-Wilson. “I am always willing and honored to work in unison where I can with whomever I can for a great cause.”
“I look forward to working with Everytown to bring about change on this important topic.”
Everytown for Gun Safety, a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on raising awareness and ending gun violence in America, was formed in 2013. It was originally founded by Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
“While New Jersey ranks in the top half of 50 states for sensible gun laws, we still have work to do in our communities,” said Terry-Wilson. “I’m committed to continuing to put in the work.”
