Geraldine (Gerry) Kenyon 1930-2018
Gerry passed away at age 88 summer of 2018 at her daughters home in Nipomo. Gerry is the last of 8 siblings born to Alice and Roy Hickey. She was born January 15, 1930 in Mesa Arizona, but grew up in the San Joaquin valley. She met her husband Eugene (Gene) at a high school dance in Selma, to this day he still carries her Senior picture in his wallet. She married Gene in June 1949 and celebrated their 69th anniversary this last June. In 1964 she moved to Shell Beach. She raised her children Glenn and Lori in the shell beach and Five cities area. Her and Gene were active in bowling leagues in Pismo Beach for many years. When her husband retired they built a home in Kings Canyon, then returned to Nipomo in 1997. In 2009 she moved to Texas where her and Gene lived on a lake. She then moved back home to California the first of 2017. She was preceded in death by her son Glenn Kenyon, and is survived by her husband Gene Kenyon, daughter Lori Iverson, son-in-law Ben Iverson, grandsons Ben Iverson, Nick & Tori Iverson, granddaughter Candy Iverson, great grandsons Sage, Zachary and Keelin Iverson. On February 2, 2019 there will be a celebration of life for Gerry Kenyon and her son Glenn Kenyon at the Spyglass Inn in Shell Beach. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to dignity hospice.
