Small Florida city honors 5 victims of bank shooting
Residents in a small Florida city gathered Sunday for a vigil to honor the five women killed in a SunTrust branch mass shooting.
People lit flashlights and cellphones instead of candles to honor the victims because heavy rains in Sebring pushed the vigil indoors. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had made plans to attend but canceled, saying the weather had affected his travels.
Four SunTrust employees and a customer were killed in the bank’s lobby Wednesday. After a standoff, police say, Zephen Xaver, 21, was arrested and faces five counts of premeditated murder.
