Cubs: RP Pe­dro Strop’s car was stolen from his garage Wed­nes­day and later in­volved in an ac­ci­dent as the thief fled a traf­fic stop, au­thor­i­ties said. Strop said he was still deal­ing with po­lice dur­ing the game against the Dodgers, talk­ing with of­fi­cers in the club­house. When the score be­came tied, Strop told them, “I gotta get out of here, I gotta pitch tonight,” ac­cord­ing to Cubs spokesman Ju­lian Green. Strop ended up se­cur­ing a save in the Cubs’ 7-6 win.

Mets: RP Ja­cob Rhame was sus­pended two games for two pitches at Philadel­phia 1B Rhys Hoskins’ head Tues­day that were de­ter­mined to be in­ten­tional. Rhame has sur­ren­dered three runs in 31⁄ in­nings this 3 sea­son, in­clud­ing a tworun homer to Hoskins on Wed­nes­day.

Rays: Tampa Bay plans to call up IF Chris­tian Ar­royo and RP Austin Pruitt for Fri­day’s game against Bos­ton.
