Learn about vol­un­teer­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties on North Coast at up­com­ing event.

Peo­ple who want to give back to their com­mu­nity and spend more time help­ing others can learn first­hand about North Coast vol­un­teer­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties dur­ing the Com­mu­nity Vol­un­teer Fair.

The event starts at 4 p.m. Tues­day, May 14, at the Cove Room of Cav­a­lier Ocean­front Re­sort, 250 San Simeon Ave., San Simeon.

The ac­com­plish­ments and ded­i­ca­tion of cur­rent vol­un­teers also will be cel­e­brated. At­ten­dees can pe­ruse in­for­ma­tion tables, and ask ques­tions. More than 20 non­prof­its, agen­cies, “friends of” and other groups that rely on vol­un­teers have been in­vited to par­tic­i­pate, rang­ing by size from Cal­i­for­nia State Parks to var­i­ous smaller com­mu­nity groups, and al­pha­bet­i­cally from Beau­tify Cam­bria As­so­ci­a­tion to the Piedras Blan­cas Light Sta­tion.

Other vol­un­teer-based groups also may par­tic­i­pate. Food and wine will be served. For de­tails, in­clud­ing a list of par­tic­i­pat­ing or­ga­ni­za­tions, email [email protected]­simeon cham­ber.org.
