Alabama cliches No. 4 seed in SEC tournament

Alabama officially clinched the No. 4 seed in next week's SEC tournament in Greenville, S.C., after beating the Texas A&M on Sunday, the highest seed they have in a conference tournament had under coach Kristy Curry.

The Crimson Tide needed a little help to get the fourth seed and got it earlier in the day thanks to a loss by Tennessee, which paved the way for Alabama.

Alabama will now have a double-bye and will not play until next Friday, March 8, in what was the team's goal all season.

Sarah Ashlee Barker comes up big in finale

Barker capped off her sensational senior season by coming up big in the scoring column for Alabama against the Aggies, scoring 29 points, for her 11th 20+ point game of the season.

She scored 12 first quarter points, getting to the basket at ease while also knocking down a three-pointer, but couldn't play most of the quarter due to foul trouble.

A majority of the offense for Alabama all season has ran through Barker and that will be continue to be the case as the SEC and NCAA tournaments approach.

Foul troubles for the Crimson Tide

Alabama's Essence Cody and Sarah Ashlee Barker were in foul troubles all game which caused them to miss valuable stretches of the game in the second and fourth quarters.

Cody fouled out late into the fourth quarter and Barker's time on the bench cause the Aggies to take a three-point lead at the 2:40 mark of the fourth quarter.

The Crimson Tide must play cleaner basketball if they want to go on a deep run in the tournaments.
