POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymousl­y report crime informatio­n, call 4636205.

MAN SCREAMING: Caller at McDonald’s on North Orchard Avenue reported at 12:21 a.m. Jan. 15 that a man was outside screaming. An officer responded and advised the man against trespassin­g.

WOMAN WITH PLYWOOD: Caller on Hospital Drive reported at 4:54 a.m. Jan. 15 that a woman appeared to have taken plywood on a cart. An officer responded and contacted the woman, who said she was returning to the store to “speak to them about keeping the plywood.” PANHANDLER: Caller on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 10:12 a.m. Jan. 15 that a panhandler in front of Staples was knocking on windows. An officer responded and the person left after being advised of city codes.

BURGLARY ALARM: An officer responded to the 1100 block of Elm Street at 12:43 a.m. Jan. 16 for a report of an alarm sounding and reported the area quiet on arrival and departure. BURGLARY ALARM: An officer responded to the 100 block of South School Street at 1:14 a.m. Jan. 16 for a report of an alarm sounding and reported the building secure.

BURGLARY ALARM: An officer responded to the 1100 block of South Dora Street at 1:27 a.m. Jan. 16 for a report of an alarm sounding and reported the building secure.

BURGLARY ALARM: An officer responded to the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard at 1:35 a.m. Jan. 16 for a report of an alarm sounding and found the building secure. BURGLARY ALARM: An alarm was reported sounding in the 100 block of East Gobbi Street at 3:46 a.m. Jan. 16; the alarm company canceled the response. THROWING KNIFE AT TREES: Caller at the corner of South State and Gobbi streets reported at 1:50 p.m. Jan. 16 that a man was throwing a large knife into trees. An officer responded and found a man with a pocket knife and no issues of concern.

STOLEN CHECKS: Caller at a business in the 500 block of South Orchard Avenue reported at 3:41 p.m. Jan. 16 that checks had been stolen and cashed. An officer took a report.

COUPLE FIGHTING: Caller at a motel in the 1000 block of South State Street reported at 3:50 a.m. Friday that a couple had been fighting in a room for the past four hours. An officer responded and found the area quiet. At 4:23 a.m., a caller at the same motel reported that tenants were “pounding on walls and slamming doors.” The same officer responded and counseled all parties involved. KIDS WITH CANNABIS: Caller at Pomolita Middle School reported at 9:33 a.m. Friday that three juveniles there had cannabis. An officer responded and arrested two juveniles for possession of cannabis on campus. They were cited and released.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS DAMAGED: Caller at the corner of East Perkins Street and South Orchard Avenue reported at 10:30 a.m. Friday that a big rig had damaged the traffic lights. An officer took a report.

Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
