POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymousl­y report crime informatio­n, call 4636205. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:

An officer responded to the 300 block of Cooper Lane at 12:04 a.m. April 24 and arrested Austin E. Ronco, 32, of Ukiah, on suspicion of domestic violence. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

CAMPER IN STAIRCASE: Caller in the 300 block of East Gobbi Street reported at 8:39 a.m. April 24 that a woman camping In a staircase was refusing to leave. An officer responded and arrested a 58-year-old Colusa woman on suspicion of possession of drug parapherna­lia. She was cited and released. WOMEN IN LAWN CHAIRS: Caller at CVS on South Orchard Avenue reported at 11:53 p.m. April 24 that two women sitting in lawn chairs in the parking lot were refusing to leave. The informatio­n was given to officers on patrol.

MAN PASSED OUT IN VEHICLE: Caller in the 600 block of North Orchard

Avenue reported at 2:52 p.m. April 25 that a man who had been doing drugs was passed out in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. An officer responded and arrested Bobby Hill, 31, of Ukiah, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and drug parapherna­lia, and for violating his probation. He was booked into county jail. PEOPLE IN CREEK: Caller on Apple Avenue reported at 7:13 p.m. April 25 having an ongoing issue with people in the creek “using drugs and moving property.” The officer’s attempt to contact the caller was unsuccessf­ul. Caller reported at 8:57 a.m. April 26 that people in the creek were doing drugs and harassing residents. Another officer responded and reported that the people had cleaned up the area and were leaving upon request. PEOPLE IN CLOSED PARK: Caller at Riverside Park reported at 11:24 a.m. April 26 that about 10 cars were in the park and “Little League practice was occurring.” An officer responded and reported that all parties left upon request.

WOMAN DOING LAUNDRY: Caller at Denny’s on Pomeroy Avenue reported at 1:53 p.m. April 26 that a woman was using water and doing laundry at the rear of the business. An officer responded and the woman left upon request.

PEOPLE IN SKATE PARK: Caller at 2:52 p.m. April 26 reported that several people were inside the Skate Park. An officer responded and reported finding no one inside the park.

VANDALISM: Caller in the 300 block of East Perkins Street reported at 2:58 p.m. April 26 that a window had been broken and an alarm was sounding at the building. An officer took a report for vandalism as “no entry had been made.”

VEHICLE FIRE: An officer responded to the 100 block of South Main Street at 3:30 a.m. April 27 and took a report of a vehicle fire. GOAT IN CITY: Caller in the 300 block of North Main Street reported at 9:48 a.m. April 27 that a house on Mason Street had a goat. An officer responded but did not find a goat.

STOLEN VEHICLE: An officer stopped a stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of North State Street at 2:02 p.m. April 27 and arrested Ashley R. Mickelson, 33, of

Fort Bragg, on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

HIT AND RUN: Caller in the 700 block of East Gobbi Street reported at 2:53 p.m. April 27 that a vehicle damaged a rock in front of a business and part of the vehicle had been left behind. BIKE TIRE STOLEN: Caller in the 700 block of South State Street reported at 6:23 p.m. April 27 that his bicycle tire had been stolen. An officer responded and reported that the tire was returned to its owner and no prosecutio­n was desired. VANDALISM: Caller in the 200 block of South School Street reported at 1:01 a.m. April 28 that a man appeared to be trying to steal tools out of a vehicle. An officer responded and arrested a 26-year-old Ukiah man on suspicion of vandalism and violating his probation. He was booked into county jail. DEAD CROW: Caller at the Ukiah library on North Main Street reported at 11:14 a.m. April 28 that a dead crow was in the city parking lot near the library. Street employees were notified. PEOPLE IN PARK: Caller at Todd Grove Park reported at 12:54 p.m. April 28 that two people were having lunch in the park. An officer responded and they left upon request. PEOPLE IN PLAZA: Caller in the 300 block of South State Street reported at 5:07 p.m. April 28 that two groups of people were in the plaza. An officer responded and reported finding no one there.

PACKAGE STOLEN: Caller in the 200 block of Ford Street reported at 5:32 p.m. April 28 that a package was stolen off a porch.

DEATH: An officer responded to the 800 block of Grove Avenue at 6:01 p.m. April 29 and took a report of a death. SELLING BLANKETS: Caller in the 200 block of East Gobbi Street reported at 7:03 p.m. April 30 that a man was selling blankets out of a van in a parking lot. An officer responded and asked the man to leave. MAN SLEEPING IN FRONT OF OFFICE: Caller in the 400 block of South State Street reported at 11 p.m. April 30 that a man was sleeping in front of an office. An officer responded and gave the man a ride to a hotel.

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department. ARGUING OVER TIRES: Caller on Park Street reported at 9:39 p.m. April 24 that she loaned her vehicle to a friend to have tires put on, and “now he is refusing to return it until she pays for the tires.” The caller was informed her situation was a civil matter.

Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper.
