POLICE REPORTS
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 463-6205.
TRAFFIC STOP:
An officer stopped a vehicle at corner of Talmage Road and Airport Park Boulevard at 12:52 a.m. Dec. 4 and arrested a 21-year-old Lakeport man for violating his probation and giving a false name to an officer. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail. A 19-year-old Ukiah woman was arrested for driving without a license.
TRESPASSER:
An officer responded to the 1100 block of Airport Park Boulevard at 2:15 a.m. Dec. 4 for a report of trespasser and arrested a 60-year-old Colorado man for public intoxication and trespassing. He was booked into county jail.
DRUG POSSESSION:
An officer contacted the occupant of a suspicious vehicle in the 1100 block of Airport Park Boulevard at 2:34 a.m. Dec. 4 and arrested a 51-year-old Redding man for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released.
BURGLARY:
An officer responded to the 200 block of Hospital Drive at 7:53 a.m. Dec. 4 for a possible burglary and took a report.
VANDALISM:
An officer responded to Todd Grove Park at 1:15 p.m. Dec. 4 for a report of vandalism to the rock wall. An officer responded and took a report of hit and run.
FIRE:
Caller in the area of Luce and Observatory avenues reported at 4:07 a.m. Dec. 5 that there was a warming fire. An officer responded and reported that the fire had been put out.
TREE ON FIRE:
An officer responded to the 700 block of Sidnie Court at 5:44 a.m. Dec. 5 for a report of a tree on fire in the creek and took a report.
WOMAN COUGHING ON PEOPLE:
An officer responded to the 100 block of Talmage Road at 11:04 a.m. Dec. 5 for a report of an ongoing problem with a woman coughing on people and refusing to leave. An officer responded and the woman left upon request.
SHOPLIFTER:
An officer responded to the 500 block of East Perkins Street at 11:47 a.m. Dec. 5 for a report of shoplifting and arrested a 27-year-old woman for theft and violating her probation. She was cited and released.
ILLEGAL CAMPING:
An officer contacted the occupant of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Costco on Airport Park Boulevard at 1:45 a.m. Dec. 6 and arrested a 57-year-old Ukiah man for illegal camping. He was cited and released. FIRE: An officer responded to the 1600 block of Airport Park Boulevard at 2:17 a.m. when a surveillance system detected a fire near the railroad tracks and reported that it was a “small, controlled fire.”
Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant: all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
