Two arrested for alleged parole violation, false impersonation

- Willits News staff reports

At approximately 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2, a Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputy was on patrol in the 6200 block of North State Street in Calpella when the deputy observed a vehicle parked in front of a closed business.

The deputy stopped to conduct a vehicle check and contacted two individuals later identified as Joshua Murray, 40, of Lake County, and Caytlin Collicott, 23, of Willits. A warrants and probation/parole check on the two revealed Murray was on active CDC Parole out of Lake County.

According to a press release, “during a search of the vehicle, two glass bulbous methamphetamine smoking pipes, and a female’s purse was a located.” The deputy located identification for Collicott, and “used the patrol vehicle computer system and located a prior booking photograph of Collicott.” With this information, the Deputy determined Collicott had given a false name and birth date, which belonged to a real person.

When the deputy requested dispatch check Collicott for warrants and probation/parole status, he was advised that Collicott was on active CDC Parole.

Both of Murray and Collicott’s parole officers were contacted and CDC Parole Holds were placed on both of them. The deputy was able to arrest both Murray and Collicott without incident.

Murray was booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in lieu of $25,000 bail. and Collicott was also booked into the Mendocino County Jail where she was to be held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
