• The California Highway Patrol office in Ukiah needs volunteers in their RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) with a wide variety of duties offered. Assorted administrative assistance is needed in the office such as helping with fingerprinting as well as positions in the field such as in the school safety program, providing traffic control at collision scenes and transporting vehicles. If you want to get involved, enroll at volunteernco.org, stating your interest. Call 467-3200×239 for more information. Or, you can call Tina at the CHP office, 467-4420.

• “Hospice of Ukiah is seeking volunteers to help in our Thrift & Gift Store at 401S. State Street. We have a large store, which takes a large crew to keep it well stocked with all the interesting items that are donated daily.

Currently, we are closed on Mondays and we are hoping to reopen six days a week. The ‘Thrift’ is our major source of revenue, providing the money needed to continue our mission of mercy — helping people to live with comfort and die with dignity. If you can spare a few hours a week, please call Marlena at 462-3141to see how you can help. Thank you.”

Farmers Market EBT Match:

Contribute to making locally grown vegetables and fruits affordable for everyone. The Ukiah Farmers Market, on Saturdays 9-12, and Willits Farmers Market, on Thursdays 3-5, are looking for volunteers to assist with the Market Match booth. The volunteer would swipe EBT cards, count out tokens which increase EBT credits when spent at the market, explain how to use Market Match, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Bilingual (Spanish/english) volunteers are especially encouraged, but not required. Contact smarshall@ncoinc. org or call 462-1958. Enroll at volunteernco.org, stating your interest.
