Plowshares presents 16th annual community fundraiser
Plowshares Community Dining Center in Ukiah will be hosting its 16th Annual Empty Bowls event on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1346 S. State St.
Tickets are $75 and include one hand-crafted bowl by a local artist, one bottle of wine or pack of beer, soup and tri-tip dinner, plus dessert for two. A VIP ticket is $100 and includes a hand-crafted bowl by Jan Hoyman, one bottle of wine or pack of beer, soup, tri-tip dinner and dessert for two.
This will be a drive-thru dinner style.
The dinner features handcrafted bowls from local artists, homemade zesty minestrone soup, and a tri-tip dinner, with fresh green salad, rolls, and desserts for two, plus your choice of local beers and wines.
All of the proceeds from this event support Plowshares' programs toward fulfilling its mission “that no one in our community go hungry.”

Empty Bowls comes together each year with the help of many local businesses and organizations.
Plowshares is an almost entirely community-supported organization, and Executive Director Michelle Shaw has said that “100 percent of the funds raised from this event goes towards our Meal-on-wheels and Community Dining Room Programs.
“Empty Bowls is Plowshares' signature fund raising event,” she said, adding “I am thrilled we are able to keep our tradition alive through this stressful pandemic by doing a drive-thru style dinner — an actual Meals on wheels!”
