POLICE REPORTS
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205. SPEEDING VEHICLES:
Caller at the corner of Walnut Avenue and North Bush Street requested at 8:44 a.m. Feb. 1 that officers conduct extra patrols for speeding vehicles.
WIFE ABDUCTED: An officer responded to Walmart on Airport Park Boulevard at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 1for a report by someone stating that their wife had possibly been abducted. The officer took the information and noted “nothing suspicious.”
ENCAMPMENT: An officer responded to the 500 block of Park Boulevard at 1:49 p.m. Feb. 2 for a report of a transient encampment and reported that the “parties were packing up and leaving.”
RAPE: An officer responded to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley at 3:19 p.m. Feb. 2for a report of a rape and determined there was “negative crime at this time.”
BEER STOLEN: Caller at a store in the 200 block of West Mill Street reported at 6:06p.m. Feb. 2that someone “stole a beer and walked out.” An officer responded and contacted the suspect at Chase Bank, but reported that “no prosecution was desired.”
TRESPASSING: Caller in the 700 block of South State Street reported at 10:44 a.m. Feb. 3 that three people were camping in the back of the property.
An officer responded and reported that the people were “counseled and left upon request.”
DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle at the corner of South Orchard Avenue and Stella Drive at 1:51 a.m. Feb. 4 and arrested Julayne Ringstrom, 35, of Ukiah, on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was cited and released.
GUNSHOT: Caller in the 200block of Observatory Avenue reported at 8:39 p.m. Feb. 4 hearing a shot fired. An officer checked the area but did not find anything of concern.
SHOTS FIRED: Caller near Todd Grove Park reported at 7:17 p.m. Feb. 5 hearing shots fired. An officer responded and determined that the incident was “not as reported.”
• Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
