POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymousl­y report crime informatio­n, call 707-463-6205.

CAMPING VIOLATION:

Caller in the 100 block of Talmage Road reported at 9:50 a.m. Feb. 24 that someone was violating city codes. An officer responded and reported that a tent at the location was unoccupied.

CAMPING CITATION:

Caller reported at 12:07 p.m. Feb. 24 that someone was violating city codes. An officer responded and cited a 46-year-old Ukiah man for violating camping codes.

DRUG POSSESSION:

An officer responded to the 1000 block of South State Street at 5:07 p.m. Feb. 24 and arrested two people for possession of controlled substances and drug parapherna­lia: a 34-yearold Ukiah woman and a 34-year-old Ukiah man. They were both booked into Mendocino County Jail.

SHOPLIFTIN­G:

Caller at Home Depot on North Orchard Avenue reported at 4:20 p.m. Feb. 25 that a woman stealing items had pushed an employee. An officer responded and arrested a 31-year-old Ukiah woman for theft. She was cited and released.

MENTAL HEALTH HOLD:

An officer responded to the Building Bridges homeless shelter on South State Street at 10:41 a.m. Sunday for a report of a man “cutting his face with broken glass.” The man was held for a mental health evaluation.

VANDALISM:

Caller in the 1100block of Airport Park Boulevard reported at 12:31 p.m. Sunday that someone broke a window. An officer responded and arrested William W. Owens, 34, of Ukiah, on suspicion of vandalism and of violating his parole. He was booked into county jail.

FOUND PUPPIES:

Caller at Safeway on South State Street reported finding puppies at 6:28p.m. Sunday. An officer responded and reported that the puppies were taken to the animal shelter.

DEATH:

An officer responded to the 1100 block of South Dora Street at 7:35 a.m. Monday and took a report of a death.

MATTRESS DUMPED IN PARK:

Caller at Vinewood Park on Elm Street reported at 8:15a.m. Monday that a mattress had been dumped there. An officer responded and provided assistance.

DISTURBANC­E:

Caller at the Social Security Administra­tion office on South Orchard Avenue reported at 9:47 a.m. Monday that a man outside was refusing to leave. An officer responded and arrested Michael R. Parker, 45, of Ukiah, on suspicion of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger and for failure to appear. He was booked into county jail.

GO CART RACER:

Caller at Ukiah High School on Low Gap Road reported at 3:51 p.m. Monday that a “juvenile in a homemade Go Cart (was) racing back and forth on Despina Drive. An officer responded but the person was gone.

DOG HIT BY CAR:

Caller reported at 8:30p.m. Monday that a dog had been struck by a car. An officer responded and reported that the deceased animal was taken to the shelter. • Those arrested by law enforcemen­t officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the informatio­n is in error should contact the appropriat­e agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcemen­t agencies are reported by the newspaper.
