PG&E needs to hire better contractors

-

PG&E has contracted several companies to work on cutting trees in our community. The problem is these companies are abusing the role and cutting green trees that are not a hazard at all.

We came home to our green 24” pine that was 60 yards away from any power lines chopped to the ground with no warning and no notice. They just trespassed far past the easement and chopped down our green tree.

When I called four different companies ABC tree, ARCT, Mowbreys tree service and American tree medics all pointed the finger at each other and then at PGE. The fact is the tree did not need to come down. I do not object PG&E cutting trees near the power lines or green trees that have major defects that make them a hazard, but there is no excuse for PG&E cutting healthy green trees far from power lines. Especially that far in to my property.

It's really a horrible feeling to come home to mature trees you have had for years in my case that are way older than me destroyed when they are not a hazard. I started looking around my property and they have 10-20 more green trees marked that are in no way an immediate hazard by these out of the area contractors, that are trying to make a dollar.

This abuse is hurting our local animals and they are not even looking at the future erosion impacts on our property. This has to stop. Travis Vandevoir Groveland
