What will it take?

To the Editor:

Our traitorous, incompetent president has informed us his administration has done a great job — the virus will disappear. Don't believe the Fake News, tune into Faux News.

How can any rational, sane person continue to support this narcissistic idiot? A “president” whose only consistent policy is whatever it takes to get reelected (other than enriching himself and his family and to attempt to erase anything Obama accomplished).

Tax bill? A giveaway to corporations and the super rich. The “Wall? An extravagant, ineffectual boondoggle. The booming economy? A legacy from the Obama years, now apparently history. How are you better off than in 2016?

This is the same “stable genius” who has attempted to defund the CDC, withdrawn support for the WHO, quit the Paris climate accords and disbanded the NSC directorate for pandemic response two years ago — a Department of Health and Human Services exercise (Crimson Contagion) in January 2019 subsequently found that we were unprepared for a pandemic. Surprise! No action or response from the Trump White House.

A “president” who ignores repercussions from his policies that rape the environment, shred the rules of law/precedent, actively promotes racism/social divisions, a bully with the intellectual maturity of a second grader. It astounds me there are people, otherwise seemingly intelligent, who think this aberration has anything to offer our Republic other than division and decline. There's still a question of whether he'll be reelected? Will he really have to shoot someone on 5th Avenue? What will it take? His buddy, President Putin has just secured his lifetime position, Trump must be very jealous.

I never used to write letters to the opinion page. I'll be ok, but I have children and grandchildren. This guy is a menace to them and our country.
