The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

3:29 a.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — A person delivering newspapers said a large black vehicle followed them and flashed their bright lights at them.

1:19 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces — Two men walked down the sidewalk of South Washington Street and looked suspicious as they tried handles of businesses.

4:44 p.m., theft — A woman was in custody of a Sanguinett­i Road business for shopliftin­g.

4:45 p.m., lost, found property — Mail, a credit card, a bankbook and birth control pills were found on stairs leading to South Stewart Street on Theall Street.

5:29 p.m., threats — A woman on Fairview Lane wanted advice on receiving threats from her family members with gang affiliatio­ns about harming her if she sends her brother back to live with them.

7:47 p.m., suspicious circumstan­ces –– A man on South Poplar Street heard loud noises that sounded like possible gunshots or fireworks, but officers determined it was a motorhome backfiring in the Downtown Plaza parking lot on Stockton Road.

8:05 p.m., public peace, fight, disorderly conduct — A man yelled at a neighbor’s house on Knowles Hill Road.

WEDNESDAY

8:07 a.m., Sonora — Credit card fraud was reported on Sturgis Road.

9:27 a.m., Sonora — An ipad was stolen on Mono Way.

9:54 a.m., Twain Harte — A woman on Robin Road got a call from her 14-year-old daughter that someone was just in their house.

10:15 a.m., Sonora — A go-kart was stolen from Cordelia Avenue.

1:18 p.m., Sonora — A person on Lower Hillview Drive said unknown people were trying to get into the house.

2:56 p.m., Sonora — A utility trailer was stolen from Terrace Drive.

3:09 p.m., Sonora — A man on Russian River caught a man stealing items from his garage and ran him off.

3:16 p.m., Sonora — A woman on Derby Drive said someone used her social security number to gain employment.

3:32 p.m., Columbia — Cell phones were stolen from Italian Bar Road.

4:17 p.m., Sonora — A man wore a red shirt and sweatpants as he flipped vehicles off as he walked on the side of Mon Way at Hillsdale.

4:16 p.m., Sonora — A man wore a red shirt and sweatpants as he ran at cars in the middle of Mon Way.

6:09 p.m., Columbia — A woman on Damin Road said a large bear ran past her secluded property and she was concerned about the kids down the street and the fact that the bear was “hustling”.

6:41 p.m., Twain Harte — Forgery was reported on Strauch Drive.

8 p.m., Jamestown — A woman and a “big dude” tried to break into a shed on Jamestown Road before leaving on foot.

11:18 p.m., Sonora — A woman on Lakeside Drive thought someone came up her driveway but it turned out to be two skunks.

WEDNESDAY

3:20 p.m., Sonora — Cherenna Lynn Williams, 40, of the 18300 block of Old Wards Ferry Road, was booked following an arrest on Washington Street.

10:43 p.m., Columbia — Emily Nicole Stevens, 44, of the 11500 block of Yankee Hill Road, was booked following an arrest on the 22600 block of Parrotts Ferry Road.

WEDNESDAY

Noon, Sonora — Thoris Lynne Foster, 56, of the 12500 block of Covington Road, was booked on suspicion of using a fortified room/etc to sell a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance for sale and misdemeano­r theft of utility services over $400 following an arrest at her home.

CALAVERAS COUNTY WEDNESDAY

4 a.m., San Andreas — Theft was reported on Howell Road.

8:14 a.m., Valley Springs — Prowling was reported on Berkesey Lane.

8:09 a.m., Murphys — William R. Chamberlai­n, 40, of the 900 block of Toomes Avenue, Corning, was booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale, rent/owning a building or space knowingly used for unlawfully manufactur­ing/storing/distributi­ng a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit a crime and misdemeano­r cultivatin­g more than six marijuana plants following an arrest on the 7200 block of Old Miners Way.

8:22 p.m., Copperopol­is — Matthew Leo Hance, 26, of the 20000 block of Rawhide Road, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of vandalism with $400 or more in damages following an arrest on the 300 block of Downtown Square.
