Culvert projects will continue through the end of month and after
A culvert project is set to conclude on Little Fuller Road in Twain Harte at the end of the month, while another is set to begin near Priest Station.
According to press releases from the Tuolumne County Office of Public Works, the emergency storm damage repair on Little Fuller Road, which began on Sept. 2, will continue until Monday.
The work included replacing the culvert, or an opening allows water to flow water underneath a road, at Sullivan Creek. They also reconstructed 150 feet of the road.
The road is set to reopen after Nov. 30, with traffic control through Tuesday and intermittently through Dec. 11. Work takes place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors awarded the construction contract to Sinclair General Engineering Construction Inc. in Oakdale. Subcontractors included Camblin Steel, Farwest Safety, PC&N Construction, Sierra Traffic Markings, and Nitta Erosion Control.
Another storm damage repair project on Priest Coulterville Road is anticipated to begin on Monday when the Little Fuller Road Project is completed, with Sinclair General Engineering Construction Inc. also leading the project. The project is anticipated to last through April 30, weather permitting.
The work will repair roads and culverts on three locations on Priest Coulterville Road. Traffic will be restricted to oneway at the construction sites.
Subcontractors include Midstate Barrier, Nitta Erosion Control, Chrisp Company, and Farwest Safety.
The Tuolumne County Office of Public Works cautioned the public to be aware of construction signs and traffic control personnel in the construction zone.
