Culvert projects will continue through the end of month and after

A culvert project is set to conclude on Little Fuller Road in Twain Harte at the end of the month, while another is set to begin near Priest Station.

According to press releases from the Tuolumne County Office of Public Works, the emergency storm damage repair on Little Fuller Road, which began on Sept. 2, will continue until Monday.

The work included replacing the culvert, or an opening allows water to flow water underneath a road, at Sullivan Creek. They also reconstruc­ted 150 feet of the road.

The road is set to reopen after Nov. 30, with traffic control through Tuesday and intermitte­ntly through Dec. 11. Work takes place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisor­s awarded the constructi­on contract to Sinclair General Engineerin­g Constructi­on Inc. in Oakdale. Subcontrac­tors included Camblin Steel, Farwest Safety, PC&N Constructi­on, Sierra Traffic Markings, and Nitta Erosion Control.

Another storm damage repair project on Priest Coultervil­le Road is anticipate­d to begin on Monday when the Little Fuller Road Project is completed, with Sinclair General Engineerin­g Constructi­on Inc. also leading the project. The project is anticipate­d to last through April 30, weather permitting.

The work will repair roads and culverts on three locations on Priest Coultervil­le Road. Traffic will be restricted to oneway at the constructi­on sites.

Subcontrac­tors include Midstate Barrier, Nitta Erosion Control, Chrisp Company, and Farwest Safety.

The Tuolumne County Office of Public Works cautioned the public to be aware of constructi­on signs and traffic control personnel in the constructi­on zone.
