Tuolumne and Calaveras counties confirm 2 new cases each on Thursday

Tuolumne and Calaveras counties reported two new coronaviru­s cases in each on Thursday.

The new cases in Tuolumne County were identified as a man between 18 and 29 and a man in his 30s.

Calaveras County is now vaccinatin­g all people 16 and older who live or work in Calaveras County. Appointmen­ts can be made at https://myturn.ca.gov online. Walk-ins were welcome at Frogtown through 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

People ages 16 and 17 can receive the Pfizer vaccine only, and each must be accompanie­d by a parent or legal guardian. Frogtown is the Calaveras County Fairground­s off Highway 49 outside Angels Camp.

Tuolumne County transition­ed last week to California’s statewide Myturn system to register for upcoming vaccinatio­n clinics. Anyone 16 and older is now eligible to sign-up, with the same rules applying to the different vaccines depending on age.

Testing

When you should get tested: Five days after travel or close contact with others outside of your household; as soon as possible if experienci­ng symptoms; and/or every 14 to 28 days if regularly working with the public.

• Optumserv state testing sites: the Mother Fairground­s, 220 Southgate Drive, Sonora — 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; and Groveland Youth Center, 18950 Highway 120 — 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays.
